Venom Artist Ryan Stegman Sends Berserk’s Guts Into Battle

Ryan Stegman has been quickly rising in the ranks of fan-favorite comic book artists, thanks in no small part to his work on Venom with writer Donny Cates. Stegman was also the artist on the recent Absolute Carnage Marvel universe event.

The comic artist tried his hand at drawing manga characters with a commissioned piece of art featuring the Berserk protagonist, Guts.

Fans of the manga series complimented Stegman's work, praising his pencilwork in the comments of the twitter post.

Berserk is a manga written and illustrated by Kentaro Miura, and set in a bleak and desolate medieval-inspired fantasy world. The series is very popular in Japan and has found fame amongst western anime and manga fans.

Berserk is known for its hyper-detailed and visually stunning artwork. The manga has been adapted into animation twice, with an anime that ran from 1997-1998, and another more recent one that ran from 2016-2017.

Debuting in 1988, the manga is infamous for its long hiatuses (not unlike similarly popular manga series HunterxHunter). As a result, the manga series has not yet been fully completed.
