Lane 8 will release Cross Pollination II, a new 14-track album, on June 12th through his record label, This Never Happened (TNH). The producer made the announcement on X/Twitter, providing fans with a direct link to pre-save and pre-order the upcoming project.
This release revisits a collaborative format the innovative melodic and deep house producer first introduced in 2020 with the original Cross Pollination album. While the debut featured seven tracks and served as a creative outlet for artists within the TNH universe during a period of limited live music, this sequel doubles the scope. The new collection features a diverse array of collaborators, including notable names such as Rae Morris, Davey Havok, Gui Boratto, and Grigoré.
A Collaborative Vision
Since January, five of the album's tracks have been unveiled, each having been road-tested as IDs during Lane 8's live performances and seasonal mixtapes. The track 'Disappear,' featuring sadHAPPY, highlights the producer's ongoing partnership with Sultan + Shepard. In February, he released 'Penguin Parade' with Robby East, who previously contributed to the Dahlia EP and the Childish remix album. Additionally, Lane 8 collaborated with Singaporean producer MYRNE on the single 'Adelie.' The momentum continued in March with the release of 'Tripwires,' featuring Massane, followed by the April 23rd release of 'World Is Mine,' which includes contributions from Kasbo and BJOERN.
This year marks a significant milestone as This Never Happened celebrates its tenth anniversary as both a record label and a live event concept. To commemorate the occasion, Lane 8 has organized a series of anniversary shows in London and Colorado, which are scheduled to run through mid-June.
