Sailor Moon Eternal Release Delayed to 2021 | Anime News | TOM Shop: Figures & Merch From Japan

Upcoming two-part movie Sailor Moon Eternal is postponing its release date due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Part 1 has been delayed from Sept. 11 to Jan. 8, 2021, while Part 2 is set to open on Feb. 11. A new teaser trailer has also been released with the updated release dates.

In an official statement, Toei offers its sincerest apologies to those looking forward to the movie.

Sailor Moon Eternal is the iconic magical girl franchise's latest movie. Taking the place of a fourth season for the recent Sailor Moon Crystal TV anime, it begins on the day of the century’s biggest solar eclipse, when Tsukino Usagi and Chibiusa are approached for help by Pegasus/Helios.

Sailor Moon Eternal will now open at Toei Cinemas locations across Japan on Jan. 8 (Part 1), and Feb. 11 (Part 2).
