Crunchyroll also lists continuing simulcasts of new episodes of One Piece and Digimon: Ghost Game, two series that were recently placed on indefinite hiatus following a hacking incident at studio Toei Animation. In addition to those shows, the release of the Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero was also postponed due to the hack.

In addition to the new anime, Crunchyroll will also soon add the ability to stream music from 14 of Sony Music Entertainment Japan's top artists, who have all contributed songs to popular anime soundtracks. Crunchyroll was purchased by Sony in 2021 for a reported $1.1 billion USD. Sony, which also owns Crunchyroll's former competitor Funimation, is now consolidating all of its anime content under the Crunchyroll brand. The company recently announced that most of Funimation's streaming anime library was being brought over to Crunchyroll's service, and that the Funimation streaming service will not be adding any new shows beyond the current winter 2022 season. Funimation's home video releases will now also carry Crunchyroll branding.
