Requiem of the Rose King Creator Shares Her The Batman Fan Art

Requiem of the Rose King creator Aya Kanno is a big fan of The Batman.

The acclaimed manga artist and author shared her fan art of Bruce Wayne to her personal Twitter account. Kanno portrayed the movie's more sullen version of the character outside of his super hero costume. The artist also praised the movie and actor Robert Pattinson, stating "I watched The Batman. The visuals were cool, the music was cool and Bruce was cute."

An anime adaptation premiered earlier this year. The series is being produced by J.C. Staff, a studio that has produced several other shojo anime classics, including Revolutionary Girl Utena and Nodame Cantabile, as well as series such as Food Wars: Shougeki No Shoma and Edens Zero. The adaptation is directed by Kentaro Suzuki, who previously served as an episode director on A Certain Scientific Railgun and the anime adaptation of Sengoku Basara: Samurai Kings. The anime stars Mitsuki Saiga, who previously voiced the character of Yelena in Attack on Titan, as Richard III, and Sk8 the Infinity's Hikaru Midorikawa as Henry VI.

The Batman was released worldwide on March 4. The movie is set during Batman's second year as a vigilante, and sees the Caped Crusader drawn into a mystery involving the Riddler, Gotham City's various organized crime families and the history of the Wayne family. The film was directed by Matt Reeves (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes) and stars Robert Pattinson (The Lighthouse) as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Zoë Kravitz (X-Men: First Class) as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Paul Dano (There Will be Blood) as the Riddler and Jeffrey Wright (The French Dispatch) as James Gordon.

Kanno is far from the only fan of the film, which was released overwhelmingly positive reviews and is currently the second highest-grossing film of 2022, having pulled in over $600 million USD at the box-office since its debut.

The Requiem of the Rose King manga is available in English from VIZ Media. The anime is available for streaming on Funimation. The Batman is currently in theaters.
