EXCLUSIVE: Onyx Equinox Clip Shows Izel Wrestling With His Destiny

Last week, Onyx Equinox premiered on Crunchyroll and showed off the terrifying power of the Aztec gods. This week, Crunchyroll shows how conflicted Izel is about his destiny in this CBR-exclusive clip from the second episode, entitled "Jaws Of The Jaguar."

This clip picks up right where the first episode left off, with Yaotl, the emissary of Tezcatlipoca, throwing Izel to the ground after rescuing him. A battered, confused and grieving Izel tries to make sense of what is going on. As the realization dawns on him, Izel begs Yaotl to pick someone else -- with Izel going as far as to tell the jaguar-like beast that "the gods have to pick someone else, someone strong." However, this statement angers Yaotl, who informs Izel that "the gods don't have to do anything puny boy, especially not at your request."

As the argument continues, Yaotl asks Izel, "don't you care about your race? Your people?" To which Izel sadly replies, "all I ever cared about is dead. Maybe humans aren't worth saving." As he starts to cry, Izel adds, "why should I care what happens to humanity? They took everything from me," before sprinting away from Yaotl as the jaguar-like emissary chastises him for wasting time on his quest.

In addition to this clip, CBR can also reveal some exclusive stills from the episode. These stills show some of the dangers Izel will have to overcome as he tries to understand his new situation, as well as some of the strange locations he'll be exploring as he begins his quest to close the gates to the Underworld.
