Demon Slayer Fans React to the Sakuga-Filled Conclusion to the Daki and Gyutaro Battle

The battle between Tanjiro, the Sound Hashira and the Upper Rank demons Daki and Gyutaro has finally concluded, and Demon Slayer fans are ecstatic.

SPOILERS FOR DEMON SLAYER SEASON 2 FOLLOW:

The long fight between the Demon Slayer Corps. and the Upper Rank brother and sister duo came to its bloody end with an explosion of action and feature-quality animation. The two powerful demons were defeated simultaneously, with Zenitsu and Inosuke combining their powers to behead Daki, while a severely injured Tengen Uzui assisted Tanjiro, who managed to land the finishing blow on the villainess' brother, Gyutaro.

The response to the episode has been overwhelmingly positive from both fans and critics alike, with extra praise being showed on the emotional conclusion to Daki and Gyutaro's story, as well as the incredible animation and frenetic action choreography created by animation studio Ufotable. Many viewers favorably compared the animation quality in the episode to the series' first movie, Mugen Train, which was likewise similarly praised for its beautiful visuals when it was first released in 2020. Many took to social media to discuss how good anime fans have it right now, as fans praised both Demon Slayer and the latest episode of Attack on Titan, which was released on the same day in many regions, for their high production values and storytelling.

The excitement over the battle's finale comes with a sense of melancholy, however, as the end of the Entertainment District arc also likely means that Demon Slayer's slightly shorter second season may be coming to an end. Ufotable has announced that the final episode of the arc, which will air on Feb. 13, will have an extended run-time of 45-minutes. The show's producers have yet to announce their plans for the series' continuation following the Entertainment District arc's conclusion.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba was created by the reclusive author Koyoharu Gotouge and was first published in 2016. The original manga has become one of the best-selling manga of series of time, achieving a circulation of over 150 million copies worldwide. Gotouge's story came to an end in late 2020, but the continued popularity of the series helped it to become Japan's second best-selling manga for the year 2021, with a whopping 29.5 million copies sold. The complete manga series is now available in English from VIZ Media. The second season of the anime is available on both Crunchyroll and Funimation, which have been simulcasting new episodes of the series as they air in Japan. The first season is also available for streaming on both of those services, as well as Hulu and Netflix.
