Demon Slayer: A Single Cosplayer Portrays All Three of Tengen’s Wives

One cosplayer has managed to portray Demon Slayer's trio of Makio, Suma, and Hinatsumu.

Thalía, a content creator and artist, cosplayed all three of the Tengen Uzui's wives on Instagram. According to one of the photos descriptions, the costumes are "closet cosplay," meaning that they were created with pieces that were already in Thalía's wardrobe and costume collection. Despite that, the cosplayer managed to create three impressively accurate representations of the Sound Hashira's beloved family. In their post for the final member of the trio, Suma, the cosplayer triumphantly wrote, "Finally achieved the sacred Waifu Triforce!"

More of Thalía's cosplay can been seen on their Instagram page. In addition to Makio, Hinatsumu and Suma, the cosplayer has also portrayed the series' primary protagonist, Tanjiro Kamado. They have also cosplayed characters from a number of other popular anime series, including multiple characters from the isekai comedy KonoSuba: God's Blessing on this Wonderful World! and My Hero Academia.

The trio of demon-slaying kunoichi (female ninja) can be seen in action during the currently on-going second season of Demon Slayer, where they assist their husband during the series' Entertainment District arc. The three wives' personalities are meant to be a mirror of the show's central trio of swordsman, Tanjiro, Zenitsu and Inosuke. The show's latest arc premiered in early December, following a seven-episode retelling of the events of the 2020 movie, Mugen Train. The story picks up several months after the Flame Hashira's climactic battle with the demon Akaza, and sees Tanjiro and friends teaming up with the Sound Hashira to stop a powerful demon that has been using the red light district to cover her operations within a crowded city.

Demon Slayer was created by Koyoharu Gotouge in 2016. The series is one of the best-selling manga of all time, with over 150 million copies in circulation around the world. The manga published its final chapter in late 2020, but despite that it still managed to become the second best-selling manga in Japan for 2021, coming in just behind Gege Akutami's Jujutsu Kaisen. An anime adaptation, produced by studio Ufotable, premiered in 2019. The series' first movie, Mugen Train, earned over $500 million USD during its original theatrical run and is the highest grossing anime movie of all time. The anime series is now currently airing its second season, which is being simulcast through Crunchyroll and Funimation.
