Young Rock Debuts Photos of the Show’s Steve Austin, Undertaker, Mankind, HHH and More

NBC's Young Rock will show Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson meeting some of the biggest names in wrestling for the very first time.

Season 2, Episode 8 "Corpus Christi" is set to air on May 3 and will show The Rock wrestling his first match for the then-WWF and detail his first encounters with other members of the locker room. Johnson shared a series of photos from the episode to his Instagram, giving viewers their first look at independent wrestler Luke Hawx as Steve Austin, Brock Dunstan as Mick Foley/Mankind, Josh Rawiri as the Undertaker, Miles Burris as Hunter Hearst Helmsley/Triple H, Brad Burroughs as Michael PS Hayes and Gawain Johnstone as Mantaur.

As well as being Johnson's first match for the WWF, it was the first real wrestling match of his life. "I had never wrestled an actual real match in my life, so on this night in front of 15,000 rabid and wild pro wrestling fans - I was thrown headfirst into the fire to see if I could take the heat and survive," he wrote in the caption.

Johnson went on to call this night one that "changed [his] life forever." He also highlighted his first meeting with Steve Austin, then known under the name of the Ringmaster. The two wrestlers eventually became heated rivals and their matches headlined three different Wrestlemanias in 1999, 2001 and 2003. The latter of these was Austin's final wrestling match before he returned to the ring 19 years later for Wrestlemania 38.

Young Rock explores various time periods and events throughout Johnson's life. The series premiered on NBC on Feb. 16, 2021 and was soon renewed for a second season after being a hit with fans and critics alike. It is narrated by a Johnson that is running for the US presidential election in 2032, and each episode flashes back to an important event in the young Johnson's life.

In the upcoming "Corpus Christi," the young Rock will be portrayed by actor Uli Latukefu, a series regular that usually plays the role of Johnson during his college years. Latukefu will also appear in Johnson's upcoming Black Adam movie for Warner Bros. and DC Films, although his role is still unknown. While little is known about the plot of Black Adam, an early synopsis suggests it will be an origin story, with Black Adam "freed from his earthly tomb" several millennia after being "bestowed with the almighty powers of the Egyptian gods."

New episodes of Young Rock air on NBC every Tuesday.
