A new promo image and trailer from the upcoming second season of Yashahime: Princess Half Demon has been released.
WARNING: SPOILERS FOR THE FIRST SEASON OF YASHAHIME FOLLOW
The image was released via the official Yashahime Twitter account and prominently features the central trio of Towa, Moroha and Setsuna, who assumedly recovers from the injuries she suffered at the end of the first season. Interestingly, the image also shows Sesshomaru, who only appeared towards the end of the first season, and original series protagonists Inuyasha and Kagome, who have mostly been missing in action throughout the events of Yashahime. This seems to suggest that the original generation of heroes will play a bigger role in the second season of the show, which will premiere this October.

Yashahime: Princess Half Demon tells the story of Towa and Setsuna, the twin daughters of Inuyasha antihero Sesshomaru. They are joined by their cousin Moroha, who is the daughter of Inuyasha and Kagome. Together, the trio set out to solve the mystery surrounding their missing parents and fight a demonic threat that has antagonized their family for generations. The series features the return of many of the voice actors from the original series, and character designs from Inuyasha creator Rumiko Takahashi.
The original season debuted to a lot of hype but was ultimately met with a mixed reception from fans of Takahashi's original Inuyasha manga and anime. Regardless, the show was still successful enough to be given a broadcast slot on Adult Swim and receive a second season with the same cast and crew. The second season will debut this fall with the title Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon: The Second Act.
