The Prince of Tennis’ New Anime to Air From July! | Anime News | Tokyo Otaku Mode (TOM) Shop: Figures & Merch From Japan

Popular franchise The Prince of Tennis will be returning in July with its first TV anime in a decade!

Titled New Prince of Tennis: U-17 World Cup, the upcoming series will follow Ryoma's journey after facing the Genius 10 in the OVA that was released in 2014 and 2015.

In addition to a key visual, a trailer showcasing players from around the world has been revealed.

The original The Prince of Tennis TV anime, which celebrated its 20th anniversary on October 10, 2021, is based on Takeshi Konomi's hit manga series. The story follows a tennis prodigy named Ryoma who enrols at Seishun Academy, the alma mater of his father, who is also a renowned tennis player known as Samurai Nanjiro.

The sequel series, The New Prince of Tennis, picks up the story shortly after the conclusion of the original manga as Ryoma returns from his trip to America.

The New Prince of Tennis: U-17 World Cup will air in Japan from July 2022.
