The 10 Best Avengers Members, Ranked By Height

The Avengers is one of the most popular and enduring superhero teams. While they may not have always been as popular as their other Marvel counterparts such as The Fantastic Four or The X-Men, these days, thanks in large part to the MCU, the Avengers are a household name. Every fan knows the trinity of Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor, but the Avengers have had a long list of members, some not as long-lasting as others.

No matter who made up the roster, one thing they all shared is that they were all Earth's Mightiest Heroes, and they all have fought to save Earth more than once. The Avengers has consisted of skyscraper-tall scientists, gamma-irradiated beasts, wall-crawlers, and mutants. One way to compare these best of these heroes is to rank them by height.

10 Ant-Man - Extremely Variable Height

Ant-Man is a little hard to gauge in terms of height as he has the potential to be the shortest or tallest Avenger depending on his mood or which powers he decides to use. Hank Pym is a scientific genius who developed Pym Particles, subatomic particles that allow for the shrinking or growth of the mass and size of objects or living beings. This has allowed Pym in his Ant-Man or Giant-Man suit to shrink to microscopic size or grow to the height of a skyscraper.

9 Quicksilver - 6' 0"

An on-again-off-again member of the team, Pietro Maximoff/Quicksilver is one of the fastest characters in the Marvel universe. This mutant-Avenger, who is the son of Magneto in most continuities, is usually recorded right around 6 feet tall, but his height is hardly what makes him remarkable.

Quicksilver’s powers allow him to metabolize about 95% of his foodstuffs. Instead of having to rest because of human fatigue poisons, he expels these as he runs simply through exhalation.

8 Iron Man - 6' 1"

Though his iron suit may add a couple of inches here and there, Tony Stark is usually measured at 6' 1". This billionaire philanthropist is one of the founding members of the Avengers and remains one of the trinity. In recent years, he has become one of Marvel’s most popular characters thanks to the MCU. However, even before Robert Downey Jr. made him a household name, Iron Man was saving the world with the help of his genius inventions and his constantly-evolving suits of armor.

7 Captain America - 6' 2"

Captain America Sentinel of Liberty - Cap Throwing His Shield

Although not technically a founding member (he would be thawed from the ice in Avengers #4), Steve Rogers is one of the Avengers trinity and definitely one of its most important members. Clocking in at 6 foot 2 inches, Steve Rogers wasn’t always a hulking mass of muscle.

Before taking the super-soldier serum that gave him his powers, Rogers was a small teenager who was too unfit to enlist in the army. His lack of physical ability combined with a fierce patriotic desire convinced Steve to sign up for the experimental procedure that would transform him into Captain America.

6 Hawkeye - 6' 3"

Hawkeye Firing An Arrow

Clint Barton is one of the more unique members of the Avengers roster because he technically does not possess any superhuman abilities. That being said, he is just as powerful and dangerous as his super-powered counterparts. Hawkeye is the best archer in the Marvel Universe, capable of firing multiple arrows at the same target within seconds.

Though he is 6' 3", height has little relevance to archery, so it doesn't matter for Hawkeye. He also possesses peak human sight, strength, reflexes, and acrobatic skills. While none of these abilities are superpowers, they are particularly useful in battles.

5 Vision - 6' 3"

It is interesting to rank Vision's height against his team members because technically Vision could be whatever height he desired. While originally created as a villain by Ultron, Vision turned on his creator and became a leading member of the Avengers.

When Vision was created, Ultron decided that 6 foot 3 inches would be the perfect height for his synthezoid. Having computer-like knowledge, Vision has one of the most powerful brains in the Marvel Universe. This is great for the Avengers when he is on their side, but it would pose a threat if someone were to take control of his programming.

4 Thor - 6' 3"

As a founding Avenger and one of the trinity, Thor is one of the strongest and most physically dominant characters in the Marvel Universe. With Mjolnir, his bravery, and his strength, Thor is one of the best Avengers.

While Thor may be 6' 3" and an impressive member of the team, his alter ego of Donald Blake was anything but. Records indicate that in this form, Thor was only 5 foot 9 until he touched his hammer and transformed into the God of Thunder, but these are unconfirmed measurements.

3 She-Hulk - 6' 7"

Jennifer Walters, or She-Hulk, is a lawyer and often a full-time Avengers member. Jennifer Walters, Bruce Banner's cousin, was saved from a fatal shooting by having Bruce give her a blood transfusion. This not only saved her life but also gave her a slightly altered version of the Hulk’s powers.

Unlike many iterations of her cousin, She-Hulk usually maintains her full intelligence when she transforms. This has made her much less of a concern to the greater Marvel Universe than the Hulk, allowing her to be consistently helpful to the Avengers.

2 Hulk - Between 7' and 8'

Hulk In Space

While only average-sized as mild-mannered Bruce Banner, the scientist becomes one of the largest non-cosmic beings in the Marvel Universe. Hulk is often credited as a founding member of the Avengers, but he really was only on the team for about 2 issues in the beginning. The Avengers have always been very hesitant about allowing him a membership status.

While Bruce Banner is one of the smartest people in the Marvel Universe, Hulk is often out of Banner’s control and is extremely dangerous, causing massive havoc and often leaving death in his wake.

1 Goliath - 15' - 25'

Doctor William Foster was a genius biochemist and a lab assistant to Hank Pym before receiving very similar powers to Hank. Foster infused himself with a more stable version of the Pym Particles, allowing him to safely grow up to 25 feet.

Generally, Goliath grows to around 15 feet when doing his crime-fighting. Although he has only a relatively short stint as an Avenger, he is a very powerful and important character in the universe. The original Goliath was sadly killed by a clone of Thor during the events of Civil War #4.
