Studio Ponoc has announced a new anime feature film titled The Imaginary for summer 2022!
Based on the novel of the same name by English authors A.F. Harrold and Emily Gravett, the fantasy film will revolve around Rudger, an invisible boy who is the product of a little girl’s imagination.
Yoshiyuki Momose, who previously worked with Studio Ghibli on films like Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, and Whisper of the Heart, will direct The Imaginary. At Studio Ponoc, he has also helmed a segment titled Life Ain't Gonna Lose in anthology film Modest Heroes, as well as the Olympic short Tomorrow’s Leaves.
The Imaginary opens in Japan in summer 2022.
