Originally released in 1996 together with Loona – who at the time performed under the alias Carisma – the dance anthem became an early milestone in his career. Now, nearly three decades later, the song gets a powerful new interpretation. German dance producer Empyre One joins forces with DJ Sammy and Loona to deliver an explosive update full of raw energy and peak-time dancefloor vibes.
DJ Sammy, one of Spain’s most successful producers and DJs with over 20 million records sold, has teamed up with Empyre One and Loona for this high-energy collaboration. The result: a driving dance track filled with powerful beats and carried by the iconic vocals of the Latin pop queen herself.
DJ Sammy is considered one of the most recognized names in electronic music worldwide. With over 20 million records sold and countless awards, he has cemented his status as a global dance music icon. His international breakthrough came in 2001 with the massive hit “Heaven,” which sold more than two million copies across Europe and Australia, peaking at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the U.S. and reaching No. 1 in the UK Singles Chart in 2002. His follow-up single, “The Boys of Summer,” also climbed to No. 2 in the UK. In addition to his chart success, DJ Sammy earned widespread acclaim for his DJ performances, landing in the DJ Mag Top 100 (No. 92 in 2005, No. 61 in 2006).
Loona, born Marie Jose van der Kolk in the Netherlands, rose to fame in 1996 alongside DJ Sammy with singles like “Life Is Just a Game” and “You Are My Angel.” Her solo breakthrough came in 1998 with the summer smash “Bailando” and the chart-topping “Hijo de la Luna.” Tracks like “Mamboleo” (1999) and “Vamos a la Playa” (2010) earned her global recognition and several Gold and Platinum awards. To mark her 25th anniversary in the music industry, Loona released several new singles, including “Dreams (Are My Reality)” and collaborated with Jerome & DJ Sammy on a remake of Bailando. Her most recent success: “VAMOS” with FiNCH, which proved to be a major hit.
Empyre One, aka Christian Beneken, took his first steps into the dance scene in 2004. His big breakthrough came in 2007 when DJ Gollum discovered him for the Global Airbeatz label. With hits like “Moonlight Shadow” and “Dangerous,”he established himself as a staple of the hands-up scene and performed at major festivals such as Airbeat One. Empyre One has collaborated with acts like DJ Manian and Brooklyn Bounce, producing successful remixes and original tracks. Since 2015, he has been a key figure in the electro-house movement, remaining highly relevant with releases such as “Mirrors” and “The Bad Touch,” while continuing to inspire fans around the globe.
