Stranger Things’ Eleven Struggles Without Her Powers in Season 4 Clip

A new clip for Stranger Things Season 4 shows Eleven struggling without her powers.

Actor Millie Bobby Brown appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to promote the Netflix series' upcoming season, where Brown talked about exploring Eleven's origin and development, on-set pranks, the Fruit by the Foot Challenge and more. Posted on YouTube, after Brown beat Fallon in the Fruit by the Foot Challenge, the late night talk show released a clip where Eleven gets picked on by some other students at school. When Eleven tries to fight back against one of her bullies using her telekinetic abilities, nothing happens, prompting the spectating students to laugh at her even more.

Eleven lost her telekinetic and telepathic powers at the end of Stranger Things Season 3 following the final battle with the Mind Flayer in "Chapter Eight: The Battle of Starcourt." Not only were Eleven's powers lost, but lives as well, with Max Mayfield (Sadie Sink) losing her brother Billy Hargrove after he stood against the Mind Flayer to protect Eleven. Though it is confirmed that he survived, Eleven also believes that her adopted father, Jim Hopper (David Harbour), was killed during the final battle.

Hopper did not die, however, and instead wound up in a prison in Russia, though this should not be mixed up with Harbour's portrayal of Red Guardian in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Black Widow film, something that the actor has joked about in the past due to the roles' similar settings. The upcoming season is set to explore multiple storylines. While Hopper will be dealing with Demogorgons and creatures from the Upside Down in Russian captivity, Eleven will face her past spent in the Hawkins National Laboratory and the experiments conducted on her by Dr. Martin Brenner (Matthew Modine).

Season 4 is teased to be Stranger Things' darkest yet, and will introduce new characters, villains and locales, like the Creel House. Nightmare on Elm Street actor Robert Englund joins Season 4 as murderer Victor Creel, whose horrifying appearance with eyes scarred shut can be seen in the official trailer for the show. The trailer also introduces Vecna, a new villain from the Upside Down.

Stranger Things Season 4 will release in two volumes. The first volume will consist of five episodes releasing May 27 on Netflix, while the second will be four episodes long and release on July 1. The show's first three seasons are available to binge on the streaming service now.
