Star Wars Theory: Reva Will Escape the Inquisitors

This article contains spoilers for the first three parts of Obi-Wan Kenobi on Disney+.

The first three parts of Obi-Wan Kenobi have been released and Star Wars fans are in love with what they have seen so far. Ewan McGregor is making his grand return as Obi-Wan, the Grand Inquisitor has made his first live-action appearance, and fans have finally got to meet the new Inquisitor Reva, the Third Sister. One of the biggest surprises in the first two parts was when Reva "killed" the Grand Inquisitor. While many fans assume the Grand Inquisitor will survive, it was still a shock to many fans. These actions may have serious consequences for Reva that may force her to escape from her fellow Inquisitors.

Reva "killed" the Grand Inquisitor after he interfered with her hunt for Kenobi, right as she was about to capture him. Throughout the first two parts, Reva is shown to be brash, cruel, and driven. She cares little for the chain of command and seems to only have one goal: capturing Obi-Wan. This has put her in conflict with the other members of the Inquisitorius. While it's unlikely that the Grand Inquisitor is actually dead, since that would retcon most of Star Wars Rebels, it does mean that there will likely be serious consequences for the Third Sister.

As was shown in the trailers, the Inquisitors will be returning to their home base, Fortress Inquisitorius, an underwater base that was first seen in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. The first full trailer for Obi-Wan Kenobi featured many views of this Fortress, and now it seems likely it's because Reva will be escaping from there. Reva's actions will not go unpunished -- the Sith are not the forgiving type and the Inquisitors are no different. The other Inquisitors will see it as a chance to raise their own standing in the organization. Reva will join them as they return to the Fortress with the Grand Inquisitor, but she could ultimately be forced to flee once they decide her punishment.

There are a few scenes in the trailer that support this theory. Several scenes show stormtroopers and Purge troopers lining up to fire at someone, and in another scene, Reva deflects blaster bolts inside the Fortress' hangar, the same place where the Purge troopers were lining up. From this, it's reasonable to assume that she's been sentenced to die for trying to kill the Grand Inquisitor, and her attempts to flee result in her becoming cornered in the hangar. From there, she may fight her way through Purge troopers, or perhaps she has loyal allies who will fight by her side.

Seeing Reva turn on the Inquisitors would both offer her a path to redemption, but it would also show the nature of the dark side. Seeing the cutthroat Inquisitors jump at the chance to kill her would further establish the goals of that organization. However, it still seems like tall odds for Reva to fight through multiple squads of troopers and Inquisitors. Some fans believe that she may be receiving help from Darth Vader himself or that Vader is using her. She may "escape" from the Fortress because Vader orders the other Inquisitors to let her go. That way he could follow her and continue to use her without her knowing.

Obi-Wan Kenobi has already provided much enjoyment for fans and has shown that Obi-Wan is a much different person than who he once was. The series is starting to explore Reva's character and providing a lot more insight into the Inquisitors. Fans are beyond excited to see more of Darth Vader and witness how intimidating he can truly be. While Reva may be a villain now, it's possible that her escaping from the Fortress may change all of that and set her down a much different path.
