Sentai’s Dororo Announces English Voice Cast

An English dub for 2019's Dororo will arrive this summer.

Anime licensing company Sentai Filmworks announced the full voice cast and crew for its upcoming English dub for the hit anime Dororo. Until now, Dororo has only been available with Japanese audio on Amazon Prime Video, but on June 29, Sentai Filmworks' English dub will make its debut with the official release of Dororo on Blu-ray. Dororo joins Sentai Filmworks' recently announced slate of home video releases.

Sentai Filmworks' dub will star Chaney Moore (Trinity Seven, Food Wars! The Second Plate) as the street urchin Dororo and Adam Gibbs (My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU, Beyond the Boundary) as the maimed ronin Hyakkimaru. Moore and Gibbs will be joined by Blake Jackson (Baki, Saint Seiya) as Hyakkimaru's brother Tahomaru, James Belcher (Parasyte -the maxim-, Knights of the Zodiac: Saint Seiya) as Hyakkimaru's teacher Biwamaru, Luci Christian (One Piece, My Hero Academia) as Hyakkimaru's love interest Mio, David Wald (Fairy Tail, Akame ga Kill!) as Hyakkimaru's father Daigo Kagemitsu and Patricia Duran (Domastic Girlfriend, Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?) as Nuinokata, Daigo's wife and Hyakkimaru's mother.

Based on the award-winning and influential 1960s manga by Osamu Tezuka and produced by Tezuka Productions and Studio MAPPA (Jujutsu Kaisen, Attack on Titan: The Final Season), Dororo tells the story of Hyakkimaru, a boy who was born without limbs, eyes, ears, a nose and skin due to a deal with demons made by his power-hungry father. Although abandoned and left for dead as a child, Hyakkimaru is saved by a medicine man who provides him with weaponized prosthetics. Bereft of sight, touch and hearing, Hyakkimaru sets out to defeat the demons that robbed him of his senses and meets an orphan boy named Dororo, a street urchin and thief who decides to accompany the wandering warrior on his quest.
