A new clip from the upcoming Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness anime series shows off the zombie-killing skills of Leon Kennedy.
The clip shows the beginnings of a zombie infestation in the White House. Leon, a federal agent in charge of protecting President Graham, can be seen dispatching a zombie with a bullet to the head before telling a rookie agent that headshots are the fastest way to kill the undead creatures.
Agents Jason and Shen Mei, two other key characters in the four-episode series, can also be seen. Leon, Jason and Shen Mei were all showcased on recently released Netflix posters promoting the series, along with Claire Redfield, another Resident Evil fan-favorite.
In a nod to fans of the franchise, President Graham can be heard thanking Leon for saving his daughter, Ashley. This is a reference to Resident Evil 4, where Leon traveled to Spain to rescue Ashley Graham from a group of cultists infected with mind-controlling parasites known as Las Plagas. Infinite Darkness is set to take place in 2006, between the events of Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5.
Directed by Eiichiro Hasumi, Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness stars Nick Apostolides as Leon S. Kennedy, Stephanie Panisello as Claire Redfield, Ray Chase as Jason, Jona Xiao as Shen May, Billy Kametz as Patrick, Joe J. Thomas as Graham, Doug Stone as Wilson and Brad Venable as Ryan. The series premieres on Netflix July 8.
