In Reincarnated as a Slime's latest episode, Rimuru Tempest continues gathering his allies to strike back and take down Demon Lord Clayman, who is chief among his many enemies. Clayman has already struck the first blow by sending the Church and Falmuth army after Rimuru's city, and a great battle lies ahead. But Rimuru hasn't forgotten the political side of things.
The great meeting of Demon Lords known as Walpurgis draws near, and Demon Lord Ramiris has informed Rimuru all about it. Rimuru finalizes his plans to confront Clayman, ready to join Walpurgis himself and take down his greatest foe. In Episode 41 of Reincarnated as a Slime, he finally has the political influence necessary to navigate a meeting of demons.
With his strategy meeting is in its final phase, Rimuru puts the finishing touches on his complicated plan to take down Demon Lord Clayman, reform the Falmuth Kingdom as an ally and establish Tempest as an innocent nation that is not worth attacking. His many allies and their connections help make this possible, but not even they can meet the Demon Lords and convince them to turn on Clayman. This is something only Rimuru, the newest Demon Lord, can handle.
Rimuru now knows the existence and purpose of Walpurgis and understands the tiny Demon Lord Ramiris is his best bet for the meeting. He resolves to attend Walpurgis with Ramiris, with each of them able to bring two guests for security purposes. Rimuru tactfully chooses Ranga and Shion, two of his oldest and most reliable followers, while Ramiris selects two dryads as her companions. Rimuru also hopes he can meet and sway Demon Lord Milim at the meeting, believing it's unlikely she is completely under Clayman's thumb. Ramiris, who knows Milim personally, is similarly skeptical. The odds seem good that they can deprive Clayman of at least one ally.
The reborn Veldora also wants to take part in Walpurgis and is disappointed Rimuru didn't invite him as an official guest. However, Reincarnated as a Slime has already shown Rimuru has a special role for Veldora in mind: acting as a deterrent against any further raids or assaults on Tempest. Of course, anything could happen and it is possible Rimuru actually will need him at Walpurgis rather than Tempest.
If Rimuru struggles against Clayman at Walpurgis, he can summon Veldora to aid him and intimidate the other Demon Lords. Veldora's great power is not to be thrown about carelessly though -- Rimuru knows to only use it in case of emergencies, and with discretion. He plans to arrive at Walpurgis in peace and keep the fight between himself and Clayman, but he is smart enough to not limit his options to a duel. Veldora is too powerful an asset to leave behind on permanent garrison duty, and as Reincarnated as a Slime continues, his power may yet be unleashed in full.
