One Piece and Crunchyroll Collab on New Clothing Collection

Clothing brand Crunchyroll Loves and One Piece are teaming up in a new limited edition line of pirate apparel.

The clothing line consists of "14 specially-designed items fit for all members of the Straw Hat crew," as described by Crunchyroll. For example, the collection features a blue long sleeve t-shirt depicting Luffy, the Straw Hat Pirate captain, and his signature red and yellow design; a pink long sleeve shirt with the Straw Hat musician Brook; a midnight blue sweatshirt featuring the Straw Hat's doctor Chopper; as well as several long sleeve t-shirts featuring the entire Straw Hat pirate crew in a variety of colors, such as bright blue and burnt orange. The entire collection is now available for purchase on Crunchyroll's website.

This isn't the first anime-inspired street-wear collection from Crunchyroll Loves, the streaming service's in-house apparel brand. Crunchyroll recently announced a street-wear collection inspired by the characters from Persona 5: The Animation, the anime adaptation of the popular video game, which included six limited-edition designs styled after the appearances of the Phantom Thieves.

Beyond the new clothing collaboration, there has been a number of exciting developments in the One Piece franchise recently to the delight of fans. Netflix recently revealed the cast for its live-action adaptation of the anime and a trailer has dropped for One Piece Film: Red, a new movie that will focus on Red-Haired Shanks. Crunchyroll also recently released an AR filter that allows fans to join the Straw Hat Pirates and create their own wanted poster. On top of that, the streaming service teamed up with Anime NYC, Midtown Comics and Colossal Media to create a massive mural to celebrate the anime's 1,000th episode.

The ongoing One Piece manga series by Eiichiro Oda was first serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen on July 22, 1997, and so far, it has produced 101 volumes worth of story. Toei Animation's anime adaptation made its debut on Oct. 20, 1999, and the show's landmark 1,000th episode premiered on Nov. 20. The successful franchise has led to more than 490 million copies of the manga sold globally and the anime has earned a net profit of ¥77.474 billion ($817 million) as of September 2020.

One Piece tells the story of Monkey D. Luffy, a young pirate with a body made out of rubber and a dream of becoming the next King of the Pirates, and his wacky crew. Together, they explore the Grand Line and search for the titular treasure. Alongside the manga and anime, there has also been a wealth of video games, light novels, tie-in movies and even a kabuki play.

Crunchyroll's limited edition One Piece clothing line is now available for purchase, and the anime is available to stream on both Crunchyroll and Funimation.
