New restrictions introduced in Ibiza as COVID cases rise

A new set of restrictions has been introduced in San Antonio, Ibiza as COVID cases continue to rise in the region.

The tourism of excesses decree reduces the number of people who can sit together indoors in an entertainment or nightlife setting to six indoors and 10 outdoors – these venues must also close at 2:AM.

Selling alcohol will also be prohibited between 9:30PM and 8:AM.

Iago Neguerela, tourism minister noted that the restrictions were in place to tackle the spread of the virus.

The Spanish Prime Minister, Pedro Sanchez went on to declare that UK tourists would need a negative COVID-19 test or to prove they have been vaccinated in order to gain entry to the Balearics.

Cases have been rising in the Balaeric Islands with 256 cases reported on July 6.
