New JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Studio Ghibli Artbooks Coming From Viz

New compendiums containing extensive looks at the artwork from two separate anime properties were announced by publisher Viz Media.

As revealed in a series of tweets from Viz, JoJo 6251: The World of Hirohiko Araki is an upcoming print-bound compendium featuring artwork from the world of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure by series creator Hirohiko Araki. Viz Media then announced a behind-the-scenes artbook for Studio Ghibli's Princess Kaguya, titled The Art of the Tale of the Princess Kaguya, which explores the film's creation from "conception to production." Also to be published is The Tale of the Princess Kaguya Picture Book, which tells "the untold story" with scene-by-scene illustrations and character dialogue from the film. All three books are scheduled to hit stores in spring 2022.

In JoJo 6251: The World of Hirohiko Araki, Viz Media promises to unveil the "electrifying world" of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, which just released its latest of 130 volumes in May 2021, with JoJolion marking over thirty years of the manga's publication. Jojo's anime adaptation finished its fourth season, Golden Wind, in 2019 and the upcoming fifth season, Stone Ocean, does not currently have a premiere date.

In terms of Princess Kaguya, the original film from director Isao Takahata, The Tale of the Princess Kaguya, is an animated fantasy film released by Studio Ghibli in 2013. It was also recently announced that Studio Ghibli will also be releasing limited edition SteelBook Blu-ray and DVD combo packs for 1992's Porco Rosso by Hayao Miyazaki and 2011's From Up on Poppy Hill by Goro Miyazaki. The special editions will include art booklets and statements from the filmmakers.
