Netflix Drops an Extended Clip From Trese

Netflix revealed an extended look at the new supernatural crime anime Trese.

The four-minute clip provides fans with a first glimpse at the detective's terrifying world, illustrates the haunting opening sequence and highlights some of the series' monsters. "Kidnappers and thieves are the least of your worries. Beware the ones that crave your blood and covet your soul," the clip warns.

Netflix announced Trese in March, along with the news that Liza Soberano (My Ex and WhysAlone/Together) and Shay Mitchell (YouPretty Little Liars) joined the cast. Soberano will voice Trese in the Filipino-language version, while Mitchell is voicing the detective in the English version.

Netflix released a trailer for Trese in May, which showed the detective as she battled all kinds of supernatural foes, including zombies and vampires.

Trese is based on an award-winning Filipino horror/crime komik that follows detective Alexandra Trese as she deals with supernatural crimes. Written by Budjette Tan and illustrated by Kajo Baldisimo, Trese had seven main volumes published between 2015-2019. Tan and Baldisimo have also released two volumes of a spinoff series.

Trese stars Shay Mitchell, Griffin Puatu, Nicole Scherzinger, Carlos Alazraqui, Manny Jacinto, Matt Yang King, Steve Blum, Eric Bauza, Darren Criss, Jon Jon Briones and Lou Diamond Phillips. The series premieres June 11 on Netflix.
