Naruto’s Sasuke Vs. Fairy Tail’s Laxus: Which Lightning User Wins?

The Fairy Tail universe is home to dozens of powerful wizards who wield all kinds of magic, from guided bullets to fireballs to ice and much more. The seven dragon slayers possess fantastic magic abilities geared toward taking down dragons, and the electric Laxus Dreyar is likely the strongest of them all.

Another lightning-slinging powerhouse is Sasuke Uchiha of Naruto fame, a rogue shinobi who seeks ultimate power. The Uchiha clan is known for its fire-based jutsu, but some of Sasuke's best moves are actually based on lightning chakra, so he'd gladly accept any challenge from a dragon slayer. If Sasuke and Laxus were to clash, who would come out on top?

The Electrifying Power Of Fairy Tail's Laxus Dreyar

Fairy Tail's Laxus had a lacrima (magical artifact) implanted in his body as a youth, thus gaining the powers of the lightning dragon slayer. His natural strength and endurance made him a formidable fighter and saw him become an S-class wizard in the Fairy Tail guild. Laxus could even become one of the Ten Wizard Saints, but for now he is in the league of Erza Scarlet and Gildarts Clive, among others.

Along with his extreme strength, endurance and advanced martial arts, Laxus can consume lightning  -- excluding his own -- to power up even further, and can even transform himself into a bolt of lightning to dash across the battlefield. Taking this form allows him to easily evade enemy fire and reposition himself with startling speed.

On the offensive, Laxus infuses his fists with lightning to deliver devastating melee attacks, and can launch the Lightning Dragon's Roar blast from his mouth to blow away foes in front of him. If the situation turns dire, Laxus can use Dragon Force to assume draconic traits on his body, which powers up his magic and enhances his physical attributes. Given enough time, he can also perform Fairy Law, destroying everyone around him who's perceived as an opponent.

The Sharingan & Jutsu Of Naruto's Sasuke Uchiha

Naruto's Sasuke Uchiha was born with a great deal of raw talent, but he worked hard to cultivate it. His Sharingan eye awoke when he witnessed the murder of his entire clan at Itachi's hands, and he's been training nonstop to defeat the villain ever since. Sasuke is a professional shinobi, relying on clever insights, tricky traps and mind games to disorient and overwhelm his enemies. He can also back it up with masterful taijutsu such as the Lion's Barrage technique, while his speed and agility are on a whole different level.

Sasuke is similarly adept at performing genjutsu to trap his enemies in deceitful illusions -- a technique he actually shares with Itachi -- but his ultimate ocular jutsu is the Mangekyo Sharingan. He can use the Amaterasu and the Susano'o to great effect in Naruto, with the former creating unstoppable black flames and the latter shielding Sasuke from harm with its massive, armored body.

Meanwhile, Sasuke can also use traditional ninjutsu and ninja weapons in combat, such as his Kusanagi sword, imbued with the electrical power of the Chidori. The Chidori can be useful in close combat as well, extended like a lance to strike enemies from afar. The fireball jutsu, an Uchiha staple, is another part of Sasuke's inventory. He also has the power of the curse mark, a gift from the insidious Lord Orochimaru.

Fairy Tail's Laxus Vs. Naruto's Sasuke - Who Wins?

Sasuke Being Power Hungry

If Laxus vs. Sasuke went down, the Fairy Tail wizard would have a nasty surprise: not only is he immune to the latter's Chidori, but he can actually eat the electrical chakra. Sasuke can stab Laxus with his electrical Kusanagi sword, but Laxus can siphon off the electricity, boosting his power to the next level. Only with the Sharingan could Sasuke evade his counterattack, and the Naruto shinobi will realize his Chidori and Kusanagi blade are ineffective.

Laxus can keep up the pressure with his lightning bolt form, which even the Sharingan will struggle against. With this power, the wizard can deal a few glancing blows to his shinobi opponent. Sasuke would need the mighty Susano'o to shield himself from ranged attacks such as the Lightning Dragon's Roar. Not even the fireball jutsu can compete -- especially if Laxus activates Dragon Force -- so Sasuke, at the risk of bleeding eyes, would go all out at that point.

With Mangekyo Sharingan on full blast, once he finds a small opening, Sasuke would hit Laxus with the Amaterasu, coating him in black flames. Laxus, with no defense against this, would finally succumb to the ultimate flames. Naruto's Sasuke would win, but he'd learn to never take Fairy Tail wizards lightly.
