Each member of the iconic Team 7 from Naruto possesses unique abilities and distinct personalities. The members fill a specific role on the team just like a classic adventuring party. Each person specializes in a certain aspect of combat like healing, damage dealing, and diversion. These specialized skills can merge surprisingly well with particular character classes in the TTRPG Dungeons & Dragons. Let's explore which D&D classes best fit the members of Team 7.
Naruto Uzumaki: Echo Knight Fighter
The Fighter class's high durability and multiple attacks match well with Naruto's aggressive fighting style. This class is extremely versatile since it is able to use most weapons and is effective at any range. That versatility makes the Fighter unpredictable just like Naruto who always manages to surprise his opponents.
Naruto's most well-known ability is the Shadow Clone Jutsu, which allows him to make copies of himself to aid in battle. This technique is highly reminiscent of the Echo Knight's signature ability, Manifest Echo. The Echo Knight is able to create magical duplicates that are capable of fighting alongside the original. At higher levels, an Echo Knight is even able to switch places with their copy the same way that Naruto is able to substitute himself with his shadow clones. Just like the Fighter, Naruto is always willing to get back up and keep pushing forward.
Sakura Haruno: War Domain Cleric
Sakura's ability to heal others has saved countless lives throughout the series. Her skills keep her allies in the fight and strengthen their attacks. The healing and support spells available to the Cleric would allow her to continue saving others. With Sakura filling the Cleric role, her party members could always rely on her support just like they do in the series.
The War Domain subclass reflects Sakura's capability of restoring her allies and doing some serious damage herself. Her devastating strikes would also merge well with the War Cleric's damaging abilities. The War Domain Cleric can infuse divine energy to add extra damage to their attacks in the same way that Sakura infuses her charka to enhance her punches. The Avatar of Battle ability, which reduces damage from physical attacks, is also a perfect match for Sakura's Mitotic Regeneration Jutsu, which instantly heals her from all damage.
Sasuke Uchiha: Hexblade Warlock
One of Sasuke's biggest decisions in Naruto was when he chose to seek out Orochimaru. In exchange for his body, Sasuke would train under Orochimaru in the hopes of being strong enough to kill his brother. Making dark deals with a mysterious entity is nothing new for Warlocks. Orochimaru's Curse Mark even behaves similarly to how a Warlock's patron grants them magic.

Hexblade Warlocks are granted a magical weapon by their patron to channel their powers and attacks through. In an interesting parallel, Orochimaru gave Sasuke a special sword that could not be blocked. Sasuke also often channeled his lightning chakra through the sword to increase its damage. The dark aura that surrounds many Warlocks is definitely present around Sasuke.
Kakashi Hatake: School of Evocation Wizard
The Copy Ninja, Kakashi, is reported to have copied over one thousand Jutsu. What better class for him than one that has access to hundreds of spells and can copy other spells for future use? Wizards are known for their wide array of diverse spells that are capable of quickly changing the course of battle. These spells are kept in a spellbook. If a Wizard were to lose their spellbook, they would also lose access to their copied spells the same way that Kakashi lost many of his Jutsu when his Sharingan was taken.
Many of the Jutsu that Kakashi employs in battle are elemental, from raging water dragons to massive fireballs. Evocation Wizards also often use spells that create destructive elemental effects. Both Kakashi and an Evocation Wizard can be a one-man army with the power they produce.
Sai: College of Creation Bard
Although Sai isn't as personally charismatic as your typical Bard, he has still shown tons of creativity. Sai creates art as a way to express the emotions that he has had to repress most of his life. The art that he produces manages to always impress and inspire those that witness it. The purpose of a Bard is to create and tell stories. Sai's art tells the story of his life.
Bards who take a subclass in the College of Creation are able to manifest and animate physical objects with magic. Sai possesses a similar ability with his Super Beast Scroll Jutsu. This Jutsu allows Sai to materialize anything he draws and control it. Just like the Bard, Sai is able to bring his art to life.
Yamato: Circle of the Land Druid
Like Druids, Yamato is able to manipulate nature both offensively and defensively. Yamato can spontaneously summon trees from the ground, or his own body, that he can control at will. These types of abilities work well with the nature magic of the Druid, who can stimulate plant growth and completely change the landscape of an area.
The Circle of the Land subclass grants Druids access to additional nature-based spells. In particular, the spells associated with Grasslands enhance stealth, like Invisibility and Pass Without a Trace. These spells could highlight Yamato's espionage and tracking skills he developed as an Anbu.
