My Dress-Up Darling: Will [SPOILER] Become Marin’s Rival Ffor Gojo’s Heart?

WARNING: The following contains spoilers for My Dress-Up Darling Episode 6, "For Real?!" now streaming on Funimation and Crunchyroll.

Episode 5 of My Dress-Up Darling saw Gojo inadvertently confess his love for Marin. Now in Episode 6, he's helping Marin wash her cosplay wig using tips from a magazine. Marin is obviously smitten with Gojo, blushing when he smiles at her.

Meanwhile, Gojo's grandfather is out spending time with Miori, Gojo's older cousin. On the car ride home, he is seen explaining that his fall was caused by finding lacy stockings in Gojo's shopping bag. As he returns home, he sees his grandson washing a dress and Marin popping out from behind him, sending him back into shock and causing another fall.

After caring for him, Gojo explains the situation to his grandfather, thoroughly impressing the man by showing him the dress. As Marin watches them discuss the intricacies of sewing, she realizes she's absolutely head over heels in love with Gojo. She can't get over how adorable he is and starts to panic about what to do about it -- until her growling stomach interrupts her inner monologue.

Gojo's grandfather offers to make her dinner so they share a meal together. Marin gushes over Gojo's ability to cook, and she reveals that she eats unhealthy takeout food every night; she lives alone since her mother passed away and her father is always away working. Gojo's grandfather offers Marin to eat dinner at their house every night from now on, which she happily accepts.

As Gojo drops Marin off at the subway, Marin bashfully bids goodbye. While on the subway, she reflects on her struggle with her feelings and lets out a big sigh. When Gojo returns from the subway, he realizes his grandfather has let a girl in, assuming she was another one of Gojo's friends. Since he doesn't have any other friends besides Marin, he panics, assuming it's a new form of trickery and robbery. Barging into the bathroom, he interrupts a fully naked, young-looking girl in a very awkward scene where he unconsciously compares her to his beloved dolls by way of hairlessness.

Surely a breath of relief for both Gojo and My Dress-Up Darling viewers, she reveals she is older than Gojo. After he apologizes, the mystery girl reveals she is there for the costumes, but Gojo wrongfully assumes she wants a tour of the doll shop and gives her one. When she becomes frustrated and clarifies that she is there for cosplay, she reveals her name is Juju-san. He soon realizes this is the cosplayer Marin admires and had told Gojo about while they were making her cosplay.

Calling Marin over, she immediately exclaims that she is Juju-san's biggest fan and starts to gush over her in fangirl-like fashion. When Gojo reveals she's here because she saw Marin's photos, she is on cloud nine. Juju-san wants a cosplay of Shion Nikaido's Black Lily outfit, which happens to be the mascot that is currently hanging on Marin's school bag.

As both girls try to explain the plot to the clueless Gojo, Juju-san starts to feel guilty as she realizes Marin doesn't just cosplay cute characters without knowing about them. When asked why she doesn't cosplay as Shion, Marin exclaims that she isn't the right height or look for Shion and wants to preserve the character's image because she loves it so much. Juju-san is so moved that she starts to cry and apologizes for assuming Marin was a fake fan.

Juju-san goes on to ask for Gojo's contact info to send him her measurements and assures Marin not to get the wrong idea; it is purely for cosplay business. She asks if they're dating and Gojo freaks out, denying it while Marin now realizes that he doesn't have a girlfriend. Before Juju-san leaves, Marin asks to cosplay Shion's older sister but is immediately rejected before she can finish speaking. So, is Juju-san true to her word? Will she only be there for business, or does Marin have a new competitor for Gojo's heart as My Dress-Up Darling continues?
