Moriarty The Patriot Continues With Two-Episode OVA

"The Final Problem, Act 2" first aired on June 27, acting as the concluding chapter of the Moriarty the Patriot anime; however, the story is not over.

According to the anime's official website, the series is getting a two-episode original video anime (OVA) that will tell a new story that did not appear in the manga by Ryōsuke Takeuchi and Hikaru Miyoshi. The OVA will receive an advance screening on March 5, 2022 at the Nakano Sun Plaza in Tokyo, and several of the show's voice actors are expected to attend, including Sōma Saitō (William James Moriarty) and Makoto Furukawa (Sherlock Holmes). The anime's eighth Blu-ray/DVD volume, which is scheduled to ship on Oct. 27, will include an early entry form for the event's tickets.

Kazuya Nomura directed Moriarty the Patriot with Tooru Ookubo acting as the show's primary character designer and chief animation director. Singer Tasuku Hatanaka performed the show's opening theme song "Twisted Hearts," and electronic artist STEREO DIVE FOUNDATION performed the ending theme song "Omega." Currently, it is unknown if the same creative team behind the anime series will create the OVA.

Takeuchi and Miyoshi debuted their manga in Shueisha's Jump SQ in August 2016, and the anime adaptation premiered in October 2020 in Japan. Funimation simulcasted the show, and currently has the complete series available to stream.
