Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid's story begins when exhausted office worker Kobayashi stumbles upon a dragon while drunkenly wandering through the mountains late at night. Kobayashi pulls a sword from the creature's back and offers the lonely dragon a place to stay at her apartment. The dragon, named Tohru, then transforms into a young girl and decides to become Kobayashi's house maid, often with disastrous results. Tohru is eventually joined by other eccentric dragon girls, who all change Kobayashi's mundane life forever.
