Leaked artwork for Thor: Love and Thunder reveals the first look at the God of Thunder's new Ravager costume.
The image, which is pulled from a currently unreleased collection of Love and Thunder action figures, shows Thor adorned in a red vest over a white shirt and a pair of blue jeans held up by a belt with a large buckle. The undershirt appears to display some kind of image but many of the details are obscured by Thor's arm. The design is a marked departure from the God of Thunder's usual attire which usually consists of Asgardian armor. The description of "Ravager Thor" reads, "Thor wields the mighty Stormbreaker against a terrifying new foe." It's currently assumed that the enemy in question is Gorr the God the Butcher.
The addition of "Ravager Thor" further teases the inclusion of the Guardians of the Galaxy in Love and Thunder. An intergalactic crime syndicate comprising of thieves, assassins, mercenaries, bounty hunters and smugglers, the Ravagers played an integral role in Peter Quill aka Star-Lord's origin story. While it's currently unknown how the organization will factor into the larger narrative of the upcoming Thor film, it's clear that the God of Thunder joins their ranks at some point.
"Ravager Thor" isn't the only character highlighted by the artwork. Christian Bale's Gorr the God Butcher was also included in the bundle, providing fans with their best look yet at the villain's sinister design. While he has appeared in several previously unveiled LEGO sets, the recent image also provides a closer look at Gorr's iconic weapon All-Black the Necrosword.
Despite its looming July launch date, Marvel Studios has yet to drop the first trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder. While the Hindi dub voice actor for Thor confirmed that he's finished working on the promotional video, there's no word on when audiences can expect to see their first glance at the upcoming blockbuster. Some fans believed that the movie's cast covertly unveiled the trailer's release date but at the time of writing nothing has transpired.
Speaking about the production of Love and Thunder, director Taika Waititi teased that the film hasn't yet been completed. "It's still not finished," said Waititi. "It comes out in July, so probably the end of June. Probably like a day before the premiere. That's how we do it."
Thor: Love and Thunder hits theaters on July 8.
