Historical manga Kingdom's live action sequel film has released a new poster featuring all of its central characters!

Information on additional cast members and the theme song was also announced. Nana Seino will join the cast as Qiang Lei alongside Amane Okayama as Wei Ping, Takahiro Miura as Wei Dao, Takayuki Hamatsu as Ze Gui, Etsushi Toyokawa as Biao Gong, and Chihiro.

Popular band Mr Children will perform the theme song, “Ikiro."

Adapted from Yasuhisa Hara's manga series, Kingdom is set in China’s Warring States period. The story follows two young men, with one hoping to become a top general and the other an emperor who will unite all of China.

Season 1 of the TV anime aired from June 2012 to February 2013, with Season 2 following from June 2013 to March 2014, and Season 3 from April 2020 to October 2021.

The first live action film was released in 2019, starring Kento Yamazaki (live action Your Lie in April and Alice in Borderland ), Ryo Yoshizawa ( live action Gintama and Tomodachi Game ), and Kanna Hashimoto ( live action Kaguya-sama: Love is War and Gintama ), who are reprising their roles as Xin, Piao/Ying Zheng, and He Liao Diao respectively. Shinsuke Sato ( live action Gantz, Bleach ) has also returned to direct the sequel.

Kingdom 2: Haruka na Daichi e opens at cinemas across Japan on July 15, 2022.
