The hit supernatural shonen series Jujutsu Kaisen recently celebrated surpassing a new social media milestone.
The series has just exceeded 1 million followers on the Twitter platform. In addition to thanking the fans for their support, the Twitter account celebrated with a new illustration from animation studio MAPPA, which features Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro, Satoru Gojo and Nobara Kugisaki.

Though the follower milestone bodes well for the series' continued popularity, neither author Gege Akutami nor studio MAPPA seem intent on accelerating future content -- such as the upcoming resumption of the manga's serialization later this month or the anime's second season, which currently remains in production with no scheduled release date.
Fans were, however, treated to a new teaser trailer for the series' upcoming prequel movie, Jujutsu Kaisen 0, back in July. The film, which follows new protagonist Yuta and his protective spirit Rika, will be animated by MAPPA, whose work viewers will recognize from the Jujutsu's first season as well as on the final season of Attack on Titan. Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is scheduled to premiere on Dec. 24.
Jujutsu Kaisen follows high schooler Yuji Itadori who joins the secret Jujutsu Sorcerers organization, who are trying to destroy the curse that Yuji wound up becoming a host for. The series debuted as a manga in the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in 2018, and is now up to 16 collected volumes in total. Studio MAPPA began the first season of the anime adaptation in 2019, which ran for 24 episodes and is currently available to stream on Crunchyroll with either English dubbing or subtitles.
