Jujutsu Kaisen 0 Teams Up With Uniqlo for New Graphic Tee Collection

Uniqlo announced a new Jujutsu Kaisen 0 collection.

The Japanese clothing brand revealed that its latest line of anime-branded apparel will be based around the new movie Jujutsu Kaisen 0, which opened in the United States and Canada on March 18. The new collection is comprised of 4 new graphic tees that will be available in unisex adult sizes. The shirts feature characters from the movie, including the prequel film's new protagonist, Yuta Okkotsu, and fan-favorite sorcerer Satoru Gojo, who is presented with a new white blindfold instead of his usual black one. The shirts will cost $19.99 each will be available at Uniqlo's retail stores and website on April 7.

The new Jujutsu Kaisen 0 collection is the latest in a long line of pop-culture collaborations from the popular casual wear brand. Uniqlo has previously released collections based on anime such as Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba, One Piece and Mobile Suit Gundam, and has also collaborated with companies such as Nintendo to release clothing based on the video game company's numerous iconic franchises. The Jujutsu Kaisen 0 shirts make up the brand's second collection from the franchise, as the company previously released a set of apparel that featured art from Gege Akutami's original manga.

Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is a prequel that takes place one year before the first episode of the 2020 anime series. The movie tells the story of Yuta Okkotsu, a timid young man who is haunted by the spirit of his childhood friend, Rika Orimoto. Yuta once promised Rika that he would marry her someday, but following her tragic death in an accident, her soul is transformed into a dangerous monster known as a Curse. Forced into a life of isolation by Rika's now violently overprotective spirit, Yuta is sent to Jujutsu High to learn how to control her power, but he soon finds himself pulled into a conflict that threatens to destroy all of humanity.

Expectations for the movie's North American release are high, as the prequel story shattered box-office projections when it was released in Japan late last year. The movie earned over 12 billion yen (roughly $100 million USD,) during its Japanese theatrical run, making it the highest grossing film to be released in the country in 2021. The movie is being distributed internationally by Crunchyroll.

The first season of the Jujutsu Kaisen anime is available for streaming on Crunchyroll. A second season has been confirmed to be in production but currently does not have a release date. Akutami's original manga is available in English from VIZ Media.
