Isekai Series Skeleton Knight in Another World Sets Anime Premiere Date

The anime adaptation of Ennki Hakari's isekai light novel series Skeleton Knight in Another World receives a premiere date.

According to a post on the series's official Twitter, which also includes a teaser trailer, the new show will debut in Japan on April 7 on AT-X, Tokyo MX, SUN and BS11. Crunchyroll has already licensed Skeleton Knight in Another World for distribution outside of Asia, and will be streaming the series as it airs.

The isekai light novels were first published on the user-generated novel website Shōsetsuka ni Narō before being acquired by Overlap. Currently, there are nine volumes worth of content; the tenth volume is expected to be released in June 2023. A manga adaptation of Skeleton Knight in Another World by Akira Sawano began serialization in Comic Gardo in February 2017.

The story follows Arc, a gamer who finds himself transported to a fantasy world and trapped in the body of his video game avatar -- a skeleton that wears a large suit of armor. Forced to hide his bony appearance in order to not be mistaken as a monster and killed, Arc tries to keep a low profile working as a mercenary, but his own moral compass prevents him from standing by when evil acts occur.

Katsumi Ono (Yu-Gi-Oh!) is directing Skeleton Knight in Another World with Takeshi Kikuchi overseeing series composition, Tōru Imanishi (Girly Air Force) designing the characters and Yūji Kondō (BOFURI: I Don't Want to Get Hurt, so I'll Max Out My Defense) handling the editing. Kenta Tsuboi (Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans) is the anime's art director, Satoshi Motoyama (How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord) is the sound director and Satoshi Yamamoto (Deep Insanity: The Lost Child) is the director of photography.

Several popular and experienced voice actors feature in Skeleton Knight in Another World's cast. This includes Tomoaki Maeno (The Case Study of Vanitas) as Arc, Fairouz Ai (Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon) as Arianne, Nene Hieda (The Misfit of Demon King Academy) as Ponta, Miyu Tomita (Vivy: Fluorite Eye's Song) as Chiyome, Takuya Eguchi (Ranking of Kings) as Danka and Kohsuke Toriumi (My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!) as Dillan. Yūko Minaguchi (Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba) voices Glenys, Rumi Okubo (That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime) plays Eevin and Ryōta Takeuchi (How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom) is voicing Goemon.
