Mystery anime Higurashi: When They Cry - SOTSU is set to premiere on July 1!
The anime's first two episodes will be aired as a special double episode broadcast, with regular broadcasts resuming the week after.
Originally a visual novel by Ryukishi07/07th Expansion, Higurashi: When They Cry follows a series of mysterious events in the small village of Hinamizawa during the summer of 1983.
In addition to manga and light novel series based on various arcs of the original game, it was adapted into a TV anime series airing in 2006, with a second season following in 2007. Aside from the upcoming series, its most recent anime adaptation is Higurashi: When They Cry - GOU, which aired from October 2020 to March 2021.
Higurashi: When They Cry - SOTSU will debut with a special double episode broadcast on July 1, 2021.
