Haikyuu!! and Black Clover Reveals Teased for Jump Festa

New Haikyuu!! anniversary art and more details about the upcoming Black Clover movie will be revealed at this year's Jump Festa.

According to Shonen Jump News - Unofficial, publisher Shueisha has teased even more new announcements for Jump Festa, its yearly celebration of all things Weekly Shonen Jump, which will be held in the Makuhari Messe convention center in Chiba Japan on Dec. 18. In addition to the previously announced Bleach and Spy x Family showcases, Shueisha is now promising the reveal of new Haikyuu!! art by creator Haruichi Furudate, as well as new information about the new Black Clover animated movie and its associated merchandise.

The new Haikyuu!! art will be released as part of the celebration surrounding the upcoming tenth anniversary of the popular sports manga's original publication. Furudate's manga about a short boy who dedicates himself to becoming a great volleyball player originally premiered in February of 2012. The manga came to an end in 2020, but both it and its anime adaptation, which also aired its fourth season in 2020, remain extremely popular: Haikyuu!! was Japan's tenth best-selling manga in 2021, with over 4 million copies sold.

The Black Clover movie was originally announced last March, shortly after the series' anime adaptation concluded its 170 episode run. Few details about the movie have been revealed so far, so fans of the shonen franchise are understandably hyped for Shueisha tease, and are hoping to at least receive a premiere date for the anime's highly anticipated theatrical continuation. The series tells the story of Asta, a young boy who is incapable of wielding magic, but who nonetheless dreams of becoming the king of the wizards. The series was created by Yuki Tabata and premiered in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2015.

Despite a sharp decline in circulation, Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump remains one of Japan's most popular manga publications. The magazine was the original home of many of anime's best-selling and most influential series, including Dragon Ball, Naruto, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, Yu Yu Hakusho, Bleach and Demon Slayer, and continues to serialize several of the world's most popular on-going manga series, such as My Hero Academia and Jujutsu Kaisen. Shueisha has been holding yearly Jump Festa events since 1999 to host new announcements about the magazine and the franchises that it has helped to launch. This year's Jump Festa marks the event's return to in-person activities, as last year's festival was reworked into a virtual event due to the on-going COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to the Black Clover and Haikyuu!! announcements, this year's festival will also reveal a new trailer for the upcoming Spy x Family adaptation, as well as new information about the Bleach anime's upcoming return.
