Godzilla: Singular Point Trailer Confirms the Anime’s Release Window

Netflix has released the official trailer for Godzilla Singular Point, which features a new look at the King of the Monsters.

Godzilla is shown trailing through Japan, leaving a fiery wave of destruction in his wake. Meanwhile, engineer Yun Arikawa and grad student Mei Kamino learn about the existence of a mysterious particle named "Archetype," which is described as "a magic lamp that enables the impossible." Multiple kaiju, including Rodan and Anguirus, are somehow able to see the future, which leads them on a rampage. This sends Yun and Mei, alongside their comrades, on a race against the clock to stop a world-ending catastrophe. The trailer ends by confirming Godzilla Singular Point will premiere this June in the United States on Netflix.

Singular Point is currently airing in Japan, with a new episode premiering every Thursday. The release schedule for the U.S. broadcast is currently unknown.

Godzilla Singular Point features animation from anime studios Bones and Orange, which are producing the series in partnership with Netflix. Studio Ghibli alum Eiji Yamamori helped design Godzilla and other kaiju, as well as the giant robot Jet Jaguar. Blue Exorcist creator with Kazue Kato will provide the character designs for Yun, Mei and the other human characters.

Directed by Atsushi Takahashi and written by Toh Enjoe, Godzilla Singular Point arrives on Netflix in June.
