Game of Thrones, Thor Actor Arrested for Explicit Chats With a Minor

Game of Thrones and Thor actor Joseph Gatt was arrested by authorities following allegations that he engaged in sexually explicit conversations with a minor online.

As reported by TMZ, the 50-year-old Gatt was taken into custody by the Los Angeles Police Department on April 6 after being served a search warrant. He was later booked on an outstanding "felony warrant for contact with a minor for a sexual offense." Gatt was released the same day on $5000 bail. It's currently unknown how many minors Gatt was accused of contacting but investigators are trying to determine any other possible victims. Authorities have requested that citizens with any information that pertains to the case contact the LAPD to assist them in their investigation.

Gatt later addressed his arrest on his personal Twitter account, claiming that the accusations are all false. "I obviously want to address the absolutely horrifying and completely untrue allegations recently leveled against me," wrote Gatt. "They are 100% categorically wrong and reckless. I have confirmed errors and misleading information in today’s press release. I am fully cooperating with police and LAPD to get to the bottom of this. I look forward to clearing my good name. Thank you to all my friends and supporters who know that this is untrue and understand for legal reasons I cannot comment further on social media." The actor did not elaborate further.

Gatt is a notable actor that has featured in several major Hollywood productions. He's arguably most known for his role as Thenn Warg in HBO's Game of Thrones series. Despite only appearing for three episodes in the show's fourth season, the character proved to be an important part of the series before being killed by Samwell Tarly. Gatt also featured as the frost giant Grundroth in the first live-action Thor film. To prevent Thor from interfering with his plans, the villainous Loki orders Grundroth to guard both the Bifrost and Heimdall. The mission proves unsuccessful as the Gatekeeper of Asgard was able to escape from his frozen prison and slay the towering warrior.

His other appearances include Tim Burton's Dumbo, Star Trek Into Darkness, Z Nation, The 100, The Elder Scrolls Online and Star Wars: The Old Republic - Legacy of the Sith. Gatt will also have a small role in the upcoming DC Extended Universe film Black Adam.
