Funimation has announced that PuraOre! Pride of Orange will premiere as part of its Fall 2021 anime season, and has released a trailer to get sports anime fans hyped for the new series.
The trailer asks viewers to "get ready for a group of girls aiming for the top of the ice hockey world!" PuraOre! Pride of Orange is produced by animation studio C2C (Tsukimichi Moonlit Fantasy) with Takebumi Anzai (Magi: Adventure of Sinbad, Darker than Black) serving as director, Touko Machida (Smile Down the Runway) overseeing the series composition and Kii Tanaka (So I'm a Spider, So What?) designing the characters. Singer May'n performs the show's ending theme song "Orange."
PuraOre! Pride of Orange follows a girls' ice hockey team working to become the best in their prefecture. The show stars several experienced voice actors like Mayu Sagara (Demon Lord, Retry!, Warlords of Sigrdrifa), Saika Kitamori (Fire Force, Tsukimichi Moonlit Fantasy) and Yoshino Aoyama (Grimoire of Zero, Deca-Dence).
The sports anime is one of many new series that will premiere as part of Funimation's upcoming lineup. Other shows that will debut include My Senpai is Annoying, Selection Project, Irina: The Vampire Cosmonaut, Ranking of Kings and Banished from the Hero's Party, I Decided to Live a Quiet Life in the Countryside.
PuraOre! Pride of Orange is scheduled to premiere on Oct. 6.
