Now, an upcoming spinoff story will introduce a new generation of readers to the classic post-apocalyptic, material arts series.

Yasu Hiromoto confirmed the spinoff, which is titled Hokuto no Ken Gaiden: Taisen Amiba no Isekai Haо̄ Densetsu - Isekai ni Itte mo Ore wa Tensai da!! N? Machigatta ka na... The story follows protagonist Kenshiro, who is the successor of an ancient material art of assassination called Hokuto Shinken. While initially he only wants to live his life in peace, Kenshiro eventually sets off on a journey to become the savior and king of the post-apocalyptic world when his fiancee Yuria is taken from him.

The spinoff manga will follow Amiba, a "genius" who can learn fighting styles and techniques faster than anyone else. When the genius challenges and is defeated by Kenshiro, he finds himself transported to another world and begins his own journey.

Moreover, in 2014, the original creators reunited to create a special manga, titled Hokuto no Ken: Last Piece, to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Fist of the North Star.
