Every Giant-Centipede Monster in One-Punch Man (So Far) – and How They Died

As a parody manga that pokes fun of superhero and shonen tropes, One-Punch Man houses a slew of unique monsters. The series knows how to have fun with its characters, sometimes even drawing inspiration from other known manga, such as in the case of Vaccine Man and Marugori. But one type of monster receives a lot of attention and affection from writer ONE and artist Yusuke Murata.

The giant-centipede monster has been featured in One-Punch Man from the early stages of the story, and persists to the present, with the latest iteration being recent releases' main antagonist. So far, four giant-centipede monsters have been introduced; as their name and appearance improve, so does their power. Unfortunately, all of them have already met their demise Here's how each of them died.

Centikohai Was Torn in Two by Metal Bat

Centikohai is the first giant-centipede monster to debut in One-Punch Man. Along with Venus Peopletrap, it attempted to kidnap the child of the sponsor of the Hero Association. But before the giant centipede could do so, Metal Bat eliminated Venus Peopletrap, and left Centikohai in two pieces. With its last breath, Centikohai told Metal Bat its life story.

Centikohai used to be a normal centipede, but repeated molting allowed it to grow to an abnormal size, which led it to believe it was atop the food chain. However, its demeanor changed after meeting the next giant-centipede monster.

Even Centisenpai Was No Match for Metal Bat

Centisenpai made its dramatic debut exactly when Centikohai mentioned its name. Unlike its junior, Centisenpai is fully armored, and boasts a four-meter-wide body. That's to say nothing of its human face, placed upon its centipede mouth. Although Centisenpai is leagues above Centikohai, the poor monsters also fell to the bat of Metal Bat.

Metal Bat immediately fought Centisenpai after his bout with Centikohai. While Venus Peopletrap supported Centikohai, Centisenpai had Lafreshidon. Metal Bat initially traded blows and stood his ground against the two Demon-level monsters, but he fell under Lafreshidon's gas hypnosis. Centisenpai took this opportunity to rough up Metal Bat, who ultimately hit himself with his bat, and snapped out of the gas' effect. He then killed the two monsters, with one strike each.

Centichoro Was Killed by Saitama's Serious Punch

Even though Centichoro is a lot stronger than its two smaller brethren, it is more stoic and less verbose. The giant-centipede monster first appeared following the death of Centisenpai, and it proved its armor's defensive prowess when Metal Bat's baseball bat was flung after hitting its carapace.

Centichoro once again appeared during the "Monster Association" arc to rescue Garo, but met its end instead. Bang, Bomb and Genos were locked in a fight with it, but the trio failed to eliminate the monster due to its repetitive molting and regenerative abilities. Just when Bang was about to sacrifice himself, King tricked Centichoro into attacking him. Saitama, hiding behind King, finished the monster with a Serious Punch.

Centisennin Met Its End by Garou's Hand

Centisennin is the latest giant-centipede monster to arrive in One-Punch Man. The monster appeared after Garou defeated Platinum Spermatozoon, and claimed to have emerged to destroy the fist that opposed God. Unfortunately, that same fist delivered its demise.

Centisennin launched an attack toward a helicopter filled with humans, and an unlikely team-up between Garou and Metal Bat faced the giant monster. After a couple of exchanges and power ups, Garou snatched the centipede's regeneration core. The Hero Hunter flung it into the atmosphere. When Centisennin chased after it, his body became a straight line. Garou treaded the monster's body, and finished it with a hand chop.
