Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo's Dark Nights: Metal event introduced multiple dark and twisted versions of Batman such as the Red Death, the Batman Who Laughs and the Murder Machine. Now, the creative team's upcoming sequel, Dark Nights: Death Metal is set to add yet another iteration of the detective -- and it's easily the darkest and most frightening yet.
Snyder provided a first look at this new version of the Dark Knight. The image features a shifting, living building that is overrun with multiple Robins. "One of the evil Batmen in Death Metal is a living city," Snyder revealed on Twitter, "a Bruce who, before death, used an ancient ritual to infuse the city with his consciousness, and now he lives in every brick, reforming Gotham to his will."

The comic series is set to be a massive event. In fact, the scope of Dark Nights: Death Metal recently got bigger, with the announcement that the series will now expand to include a guide book and anthology issues.
Dark Nights: Death Metal #1, by Scott Snyder, Greg Capullo, Jonathan Glapion and FCO Plascencia, was originally scheduled to go on sale May 13. However, it has since been delayed due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
