Crunchyroll Games, a gaming-focused division of the anime distributor and publisher, has opened pre-registration for its upcoming title Mitrasphere -- a co-op RPG fantasy mobile game based on classic Japanese RPG style and anime themes.
Mitrasphere is being developed in partnership with Bank of Innovation, Inc., the original developer of the Japanese mobile game, and JetSynthesis, who will be maintaining the game's online operations and performance. The game, which will be available on both Android and iOS devices, takes inspiration from the art of Japanese RPGs and ultimately aims to offer a quality experience to those familiar with and passionate about the genre.
Players will be able to traverse the world in groups of up to five, taking on powerful bosses and unlocking legendary weapons along their journey. The social aspects of the game will focus on cooperative play and an environment that encourages group interaction. In addition, players will have a full range of customization options for their characters, extending from visual appearance to equipment to changing a character from one of five available classes to another.
Originally launched in 2017 in Japan, Mitrasphere is a multiplayer game that received 800,000 pre-registrants at its original launch, as well as 7 million total installs since that point in time. The game takes place in a fantasy world where a massive sea blankets the skies. Golden crystals fall from the sky, which alter the lives of everyone they touch -- those the crystals touch are met by one of two fates: a life of endless riches, or a life of suffering. Mitrasphere is the tale of those cursed by the sky who choose to rebel against their fate. Players fight in real time with their friends and allies in order to progress through the game's story.
The game joins several others at Crunchyroll's blossoming game development division, including Princess Connect! Re: Dive, Grand Summoners and Mob Psycho 100: Psychic Battle, as part of Crunchyroll's broader commitment to building a full slate of 360-degree experiences in order to deepen the community's engagement and love for their favorite anime and manga. The game will be available to play in numerous countries, including the United States, Canada, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Columbia, Ecuador, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Uruguay, Venezuela, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Norway and Sweden.
Mitrasphere is available for pre-registration now for both Android and iOS devices. More information on the game's release will be made available in time.
