Boruto: Code’s Secret Weapon Teases New, Dangerous Powers

WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Chapter #60 of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, “A Place to Belong,” by Masashi Kishimoto, Mikio Ikemoto, Mari Morimoto and Snir Aharon, now available in English from Viz Media.

One of the most intriguing additions in the Boruto manga has been Eida, the all-seeing and all-knowing cyborg Boro had hidden away at a snowy base. Code, hoping to attain revenge on Konoha after Isshiki's death, has now unlocked her and is weaponizing Eida for the new war to come. However, he knows she has a little brother as well, with unique powers he can use. Come Boruto #60, though, Code is stunned to find out Daemon might have other tricks up his sleeve he's yet to reveal -- and it could drastically change the shinobi landscape across all lands.

Code is ecstatic knowing Daemon's main power is reflection -- a technique that can cripple any opponent without the kid even knowing what's going on. Once someone plans to attack Daemon, as long as they think it, that move will actually kill the attacker. It's quite remarkable and leaves Code with a deadly soldier once he can keep the kid under control. He's already lusting for power and now, this is a trump card to subdue the great ninja nations.

However, Eida confesses Code better rein it in because she won't let Daemon be used in such a way that would endanger him. Code promises to be cool about it but Eida knows he's lying. She just wants him to have limits but leaves Code with a warning in case he's plotting to backstab her.

While they're glad to help him get vengeance, Daemon has other powers that would break the world -- and Code too. Code's stunned as he didn't think the boy could be stronger but Eida makes it clear: whether it's Naruto and Konoha, or Code, anyone who pisses them off could be taken out in the blink of an eye.

Sadly, we don't get to see the moves in Boruto Chapter #60 but Daemon's found smirking, hinting he can't wait to unleash his full potential. It leaves us wondering what he can really do, while Code himself ponders what's the possibility if he could somehow learn these techniques.

Code also doesn't have Amado, the scientist who's defected to Konoha, to help him out. Still, he's slick with his words and seeing as Eida wants Kawaki as a mate, Code's leveraging all that to ensure she and Daemon stick to his vision. But what's clear is while Code and Eida are aligned, for now, they don't trust each other as much.

It remains to be seen which side Daemon will pick, as he does love being a kid brother to Code too, which means he might be swayed to become the destroyer Eida fears he will be someday. He's a wildcard whom Code is hoping to manipulate, just like Isshiki did to him and Kawaki. The shocking thing is, Eida's words also hint she too may be hiding more powers besides enchantment and sight beyond sight, leaving Code thinking she might be a puppet master too. It's an unstable alliance that could break anytime as Boruto continues.
