Blasterjaxx raised a strong profile throughout the years as one of dance music’s most forward thinking acts, known for producing strong, energetic tracks, featuring epic melodies, huge drops and touching vocals. They now creatively mix their forces with up-and-coming act Kickbait. Still buzzing on last year’s Alok and CERES hit collab “BLACK WIDOW,” the German DJ/producer has become a whirlwind in contemporary festival music, seamlessly blending bass-heavy drops with intricate melodies and high energy rhythms, drawing inspiration from genres like trap, dubstep and future bass. “Changes” sees the guys team up with trusted partner CERES, the Brazilian singer/DJ who switched gears in ’23 with the massive Alok tune “LET’S GET FKD UP,” followed by more hot stuff last year in the shape of hit tunes “Lose Control” and Kickbait collab “Hear What I Say.”
Together, they’ve revived a major tune in recent pop music, 2018’s “Changes” by the late rapper XXXTentacion. Originally a subtle, piano guided song that’s worked up over a billion Spotify streams, in this version CERES touches the emotional vocals in her own, distinctive style, adding more punchy and rhythmic elements to the delivery.
Blasterjaxx and Kickbait, on their turn, perfectly know how to accompany such catchy vocal hooks, bursting out with a pitched up, energetic beat that reminisces the heyday of 90s vocal house.
