Attack on Titan Fan Portrays All Nine Titans With Body Paint Cosplay

Attack on Titan's Nine Titans have been recreated through the work of one talented cosplayer.

SPOILERS FOR ATTACK ON TITAN FOLLOW:

The nine amazing new cosplays all come from makeup artist and body paint cosplayer Yaiza Perez. Using mostly just wigs, colored contacts and body paint, the versatile cosplayer was able to portray all of the nine original Titans, who have each played a key role throughout Attack on Titan's story and lore.

Perez was previously highlighted on CBR for their equally impressive rendition of the Boruto villain Momoshiki Ohtsutsuki. As with their Attack on Titan cosplay, that look was also created entirely through the use of cosmetics and body paint. More of the artist's body paint cosplays can be viewed on their Instagram profile, where they have portrayed characters such as Demon Slayer's beloved Sound Hashira, Tengen Uzui, and Neon Genesis Evangelion's fiery-tempered pilot, Asuka Langley Sohryu.

In Attack on Titan, the Nine Titans originated from Ymir and her descendants, who were among the first human beings to possess the ability to transform into the monstrous giants and the founders of the original Eldian Empire. Feared and respected in equal measure, the ability to transform into these most powerful titan forms were passed down through the ages. Eventually, the ability to turn into the Attack Titan was given to a young Eren Jaeger, setting the events of Hajime Isayama's anime and manga series into motion.

Attack on Titan is currently airing the second half of its final season, which premiered on Jan. 9. Despite an extremely mixed reaction to the manga's finale in 2021, hype for the anime's final run of episodes was still high enough to briefly bring the streaming service Crunchyroll offline, as the series' throngs of dedicated fans overwhelmed the platform's servers on the new season's premiere date. Crunchyroll has since recovered, and new episodes have premiered weekly on the service, as well as on Funimation and Hulu, without incident.

The series was originally created by author and artist Hajime Isayama in 2009. The anime was originally produced by Wit Studio (Ranking of Kings, Spy x Family) for its first three critically acclaimed seasons, but production was unexpectedly moved over to studio MAPPA (Jujutsu Kaisen, Yuri!! on Ice) for the series' fourth and final season. The complete manga series is now available in English from Kodansha USA, while past seasons of the anime, and the previously mentioned simulcast of the current season, are all available on Crunchyroll, Funimation and Hulu. The final season is also being broadcast on Toonami as part of its late night lineup.
