Arifureta’s Season 2 Trailer Reveals the True Villain Behind Everything

Funimation has officially released the Season 2 trailer for Arifureta: From Common Place to World's Strongest, and it shows a little more insight into where overpowered protagonist Nagumo Hajime and his colorful harem are headed to next. In the finale of Season 1, Shirasaki Kaori, Hajime's former classmate and crush, had just joined the gang on their adventures after a long-anticipated reunion. Along with them are Hajime's main lover and vampire princess Yue, clumsy bunny girl Shea, masochistic dragon Tio, and merfolk toddler Yue.

Originally debuting in 2019, Arifureta's anime adaptation has had very mixed reviews from its fanbase. Only receiving a 6.65 on MyAnimeList, the biggest critiques the isekai anime faces are terrible pacing and the lackluster CGI monsters. The original light novels by Ryo Shirakome and Takayaki are quite popular, however, so many fans are willing to give the next season another chance to redeem itself.

In the new Season 2 trailer, it is revealed that the gang are on their way to Myu's homeland of Erisen, most likely to reunite her with her mother. Myu was found and saved by Hajime after being kidnapped by child traffickers in the town they were staying in. She is currently considered Hajime and Yue's "daughter", but the gang knows the right thing to do would be to return her to her real mother.

Hajime's narration continues, mentioning that demons have been plotting against them while they make their next move. In the next shot, a mysterious evil-looking man with red hair is seen conniving with another man with a yellow mullet. It's safe to assume these two are the underlings of who the trailer is about to announce next.

Noint Arifureta Season 2 Trailer

After some shots recapping the extraordinary abilities of the women in Hajime's harem, he goes on to speak of the "true villain of this world." Viewers then get a glimpse of a mysteriously powerful-looking woman floating in the sky. The name "Noint" flashes on the screen and the white-haired woman is seen unfazed as Hajime attempts to shoot her with his gun. Who is this woman? Why is she the true villain of the world? Did she bring Hajime and his classmates to this mysterious world herself?

All of these questions will hopefully be answered when Arifureta: From Commonplace to World's Strongest Season 2 begins airing this January.
