Dr. Stone is receiving a lot of love from the creators of Jujutsu Kaisen, My Hero Academia, Black Clover and more.
In VIZ Media's latest roundup of messages from Shonen Jump manga authors, the creators of several popular manga series got together to express their love for writer Riichiro Inagaki and artist Boichi's sci-fi adventure Dr. Stone, which concluded its serialization on March 7. "I was overwhelmed by the passion every week! Inagaki Sensei, Boichi Sensei, congratulations!" wrote Jujutsu Kaisen creator Gege Akutami. My Hero Academia author Kohei Horikoshi, who previously used the column to recommend his new favorite movie, Spider-Man: No Way Home, offered similar praise for Dr. Stone. "Constantly in a state of being excited! Thank you so much, Inagaki Sensei and Boichi Sensei!," Horikoshi stated. Black Clover's Yuki Tabata continued to praise the series, stating, "I was blown away each week by the story and art of Dr. STONE!"
While several creators used this week's messages to post their usual random musings, a large number of the posts this week were focused on Dr. Stone. In addition to Akutami, Horikoshi and Tabata, the creators of Sakamoto Days, Ayakashi Triange, Me & Robocco, and Undead Unluck all posted similar congratulatory messages and praise for the recently concluded series.
This week's roundup also included messages from Dr. Stone's creators themselves: Boichi wrote "Dr. STONE will always continue in my heart. And I would like to do a new project in Jump!," while Inagaki stated "Exactly five years! Thank you so much for the support. It's continuing just a little longer?!" Inagaki's statement was likely referencing a newly announced bonus chapter of the manga, which will tie-in to the release of the upcoming Dr. Stone: Ryusui animated special, which will premiere in Japan this summer.
While the Dr. Stone manga has mostly wrapped up, the other Shonen Jump authors and regular fans of the series can still look forward to more of the Dr. Stone anime. In addition to the previously mentioned Ryusui animated special, the series' producers have confirmed that a third season of the anime is in production and is scheduled to air sometime in 2023.
Inagaki and Boichi's original manga series is available in English in both print and digital formats from VIZ Media. The first two seasons of the anime series are currently available for streaming on Crunchyroll, Funimation and HBO Max.
