unOrdinary: John Is Finally on the Game – With an Annoying Task

WARNING: The following contains spoilers for unOrdinary Episode 247 by uru-chan available via Webtoon.

John has been through quite a lot during his stint as Wellston King in unOrdinary. Thus far he has caused more harm than any of the royals he despised, but he's since recovered and is constantly battling his dark tendencies with much help from his best friend Seraphina. Although John is finally showing progress in becoming more emotionally stable, Seraphina has gotten herself tied in with a very sketchy organization. Until recently, he'd been left unaware of everything happening.

Finally returning to Wellston after a well-deserved suspension from school, John ultimately rescinds his title as King and returns to life as an ordinary student. However, the school couldn't simply forget his tyranny and the damages he incurred. John couldn't care less about being an outcast, but he was forced to change his ways after sensing something fishy happening around Seraphina. Now in Episode 247 of unOrdinary, he finally learns what's been going on.

John and Arlo talking in unOrdinary

After hearing the whole truth from Arlo, John confronts Seraphina about Spectre, the shady organization holding her power hostage. Seraphina wanted to deny it but ultimately failed to do so as Arlo had already spilled everything. She could only reluctantly accept her best friend's offer to help as he officially joined her and Arlo's undercover job, but they still decided to keep John's presence a secret from Spectre. Their discussion made it seem like Seraphina was able to talk John into returning to Wellston, fooling not only the students but also Terrence, Spectre's eyes inside the school.

Since he was no longer anywhere near the Safe House members, John went inside the amusement park wearing a casual disguise. The three undercover high tiers divided the task of looking out for three individuals: Blyke, Terrence and Remi. Arlo called dibs on Remi while Seraphina assigned herself to Terrence. Poor John was left with the person who hates him the most -- Blyke. He tried to negotiate his way out of it but was immediately shut down.

John telling on Arlo in unOrdinary

unOrdinary fans will remember that John and Blyke are constantly aiming for each other's throats. Both characters are powerful and have used their powers to abuse the other on different occasions. John being assigned to keep an eye on Blyke is bound to result in a laugh or two -- as well as a few annoyances. If Spectre or even EMBER decide to attack then John and Blyke are bound to see each other, which may finally lead to the two working together.

John's past is riddled with memories he wishes to forget, and he suffers from repeating old mistakes. Although he has been working to improve himself, the consequences of his previous actions continue to haunt him. Some come as grim, but there are also comedic ones -- like being assigned to guard one of the people he hates the most.
