Black Clover Debuts New Yuno Art from Upcoming Movie

Black Clover released a visual of Yuno Grinberryall to promote the action-fantasy shonen's upcoming movie.

The official Twitter account for Black Clover posted a key visual illustration starring Yuno. The picture was initially revealed during Jump Festa 2022 as part of the promotional campaign for Black Clover's animated film, which is currently still in production. Long-time followers of Black Clover may also find some elements of the composition familiar, as the sketch was intended to be a companion piece for a previous illustration of Asta that was uploaded as part of the original announcement for the film.

Officially announced March 29, 2021, there have been very few details released regarding the ongoing production of the Black Clover film. At the time of writing, no information has been given regarding the plot, setting or even the general timeline for when it may begin airing in theaters. This lack of new content has become a point of criticism for some fans of the show, many of whom were expecting a completed trailer to debut during the recent Black Clover event that premiered for Jump Festa 2022.

Black Clover was originally a manga series written and illustrated by Yuki Tabata and began serialization in 2015 for Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. It has since become a massive success, with 30 volumes worth of compiled chapters as of October 2021 and over 16 million copies in circulation. Its latest volume has been scheduled for a Japanese release on Jan. 4, 2022, while the 28th volume's English localization is now set to arrive on Feb. 1, 2022.

An anime adaptation produced by animation studio Pierrot (Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, Tokyo Ghoul) began airing in October 2017 and concluded in March 2021. It was directed by Tatsuya Yoshihara, who has worked on other titles such as Long Riders! and Monster Musume: Everyday Life with Monster Girls. The series ran for exactly 170 episodes and has since gone on a hiatus, having run out of content to adapt from its source material. Black Clover was ranked as Crunchyroll's most-watched anime of 2020, with critics praising the series' stunning soundtrack, stellar animation and fun cast of characters.

Black Clover is available for streaming on multiple digital platforms, such as Netflix, Crunchyroll, Hulu and Funimation. While no specific premiere date has been confirmed, there are rumors that the Black Clover film will be released as part of the 2022 lineup. The original Black Clover manga is licensed for distribution by VIZ Media and is available through both physical and digital outlets.
