Boruto's powerful Momoshiki Otsutsuki lives on in a new cosplay by makeup artist Yaiza Perez.
The jaw-dropping take on the villain of the Boruto: Naruto the Movie was created using just everyday cosmetics, body paint, and a pair of colored lenses. The cosplay recreates Momoshiki's appearance during his memorable battle with Naruto and Sasuke, which has become famous for its lavish animation and is now regarded as one of the best fights in the entire series.

Momoshiki is just one of the many make-up/body paint cosplays created by Yaiza Perez, a make-up artist based in Spain. The talented artist has cosplayed a number of other Naruto characters, including Kurama, the Nine-Tailed Fox that lives within the series' main hero. They have also portrayed a wide variety of other anime, video game, and movie characters, including Izuku "Deku" Midoriya from My Hero Academia, the Colossal Titan from Attack on Titan and Zero Two from Darling in the Franxx. Perez's take on Momoshiki isn't the only bodypaint cosplay to garner attention recently: fellow Instagram cosplayer and make-up artist Sailor Kayla also recently shared their take on My Hero Academia's Star and Stripe, the number pro hero from the United States. Like Perez's cosplay, that costume was also created using only cosmetics and body paint.
Momoshiki Otsutsuki was one of the first major villains to appear in Naruto's Boruto sequel series. Momoshiki is a celestial being belonging to same clan as Kaguya, the goddess-like figure who gifted humanity with the use of chakra and who was one of the primary villains of the original Naruto manga's final arc. Momoshiki takes on the combined powers of Naruto, Sasuke and Boruto, and while he is eventually defeated, the villain has continued to have a lasting influence on the entire story line of the Boruto anime and manga.
The Naruto franchise began with a manga by Masashi Kishimoto, which was first published in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1999. The series is the fourth best-selling manga of all time, with over 250 million copies in circulation. Kishimoto's manga series was adapted into two separate anime series, the original Naruto and its post-time skip continuation, Naruto Shippuden, which are both available for streaming on Netflix, Hulu, Crunchyroll and Funimation. The Boruto: Naruto Next Generations sequel manga and anime are both currently still on-going: new chapters are released on a monthly schedule by VIZ Media, while new episodes of the show are available for streaming via Crunchyroll.
